Not Safe to Live Here

There are cockroaches that they wont tell you about and management is horrible. DO NOT MOVE HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT.

We have lived here for a while and have our apartment constantly sprayed and STILL have cockraoches.

It’s unhealthy to live here

The worst management and the building manager is not at all kind and helpful. They allowed Airbnb during The Pandemic and random people stayed in the apartment next to mine. It’s infested with roaches and it’s extremely unhealthy to live there. Don’t! Look for other properties. These people suck and increase the rent every year!

Keep Looking

Unless you want a 13% increase in your rent every year, look elsewhere. There has been no major improvements made to this building to justify that percentage increase. They cannot even get the roach infestation under control (you'll never be alone in the elevator). I've lived here with my wife for three years with no complaints and always paying on time. We are expecting our first child mid April and our lease ends May 1st. We plan to move back home in June. We asked management for a ONE MONTH... extension on the lease to help us out with the timing of my daughters birth and moving back home and they simply said NO. The options given are to either sign for another year at a 13% increase, which is definitely not an option for us, or to go on a month-to-month basis for an additional $500 per month. So we are stuck paying the additional $500 a month, which is also the first month of my child being born and my wife not working. So once our daughter is born we will have to come home from the hospital and pack. I explained all of this to management in a letter and received a one sentence response back of "I am so sorry but this was declined." They clearly don't care about the residents here.

DON'T LIVE HERE!!

LOOK ELSEWHERE! This place used to be an awesome place to live, but recently the corporate office has taken over and only cares about money and not it’s residents. They recently fired the property manager Alex, who was literally the only reason I stayed here as long as I have. Well that and the maintenance staff Jose and Antonio are awesome, and all the tenants are super cool. Unfortunately Lanewood Pines is jacking up our rent, anywhere between an 8% to a 13% increase and it’s all geared... towards making us pay for upcoming “renovations.” This place is not rent controlled and they will literally raise the rent on you to simply line their pockets. Lanewood Pines if you’re reading this how about you offer us tenants the chance to break our lease early so we can leave and you can start these renovations without us? You clearly want us gone so why not just let us leave?

Also none of the new management has said anything to its tenants or even made an attempt to say hello. You would think with such a drastic change in our living environment upper management would like to make this a smooth transition for its residents, but they couldn’t care less. Such a bummer. We no longer have a live in building manager who was available to help us at any given time, or maybe we do, again i wouldn’t know. If not, this will make this even worse! I locked myself out once and Alex got up and left his apartment at 1am to let me in and had no issues about it, but that’s who Alex was. Now we have an office worker(s?) who doesn’t say hello and seems bothered to deal with us. So sad we used to have such a welcoming and friendly manager and they decided to get rid of him on some BS about “resident complaints.” Literally EVERYONE HERE LOVED ALEX! They jacked up our rent by $400 dollars and said they were gonna start renovating apartments and nothing has been done in 5 months. They were too busy trying to fire Alex cause he actually cared about his tenants. The only reason I even renewed my lease was cause of Alex; he made it worth it to pay more to live here. Now that they got rid of him I will not be renewing my lease and I strongly suggest you don’t live here either. They also bought the building next door, Infinity West and I hear it’s awful over there too. Don’t give these people your money! You can live in Hollywood for way cheaper! Coming home everyday shouldn’t be stressful, it should be warm and welcoming. You won’t find that at Lanewood Pines anymore that’s for sure.

going downhill fast

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT LIVE HERE!! We have lived here for 3 years and upper management/corporate has been on a steady decline over the past year or so and they have recently fired the building manager, Alex. In all honesty, he was the only reason we renewed our lease this past November after an 8% rent increase (that’s after a 3% increase the year before). We are in shock that Alex was let go. He was the best thing about this building, along with his maintenance staff Jose and Antonio.... This place is consistently raising rent, from 3% to 13% and we have seen absolutely no renovations or improvements. That is ridiculous! They are having the current residents front the money for remodels we will never see. We definitely get the vibe that they are trying to get all of us out.

It really seems this company only cares about money and not it’s tenants, and it was made abundantly clear when they let go of the only person that actually cared about the people.

We will definitely not be renewing our lease when the time comes. The building is not nice for what they charge – old kitchens, crappy gym, outdated décor, elevator constantly breaks down, lots of homeless people nearby, frequent street closures because of events or police activity (man hunts, murders, robberies, etc. –
but we stayed because of Alex who is an amazing person and was great at his job, the maintenance guys (who are on top of it – always fix things right away, very nice and helpful), and the wonderful community of people. It seems like all of those positives are on the way out, so we will be too.

Side note: this management company also just purchased the Infinity West apartment building on this street, I’d avoid that place too.
