Unsafe community.
I have lived at eaves from July 2021 until October 2023. Eaves is not a safe place. The main vehicle gate is often broken and it has now been broken for 8 weeks. No time frame has been given to the residents living here for when it will be functioning again. Because of this, cars are being broken in to, and homeless and dangerous people are inside the gate which put me and my family at unease. We asked eaves if we could break our lease 7 weeks early due to the safety concerns, and eaves told us... that we would have to pay a $2900 lease breaking fee or be responsible until our lease terms Dec 2023. We have tried talking to as many people through eaves contact support as we could and none were helpful. In fact, one even showed us where it says in our lease that Eaves is not liable to keep gates fixed or protect the residents that live there. I don't think anyone should move into eaves. It's a bad area of Huntington Beach and we are very sad that we have to leave on such bad terms. The neighbors have been nice and we feel eaves should not have charged us a lease breaking fee since the place is unsafe and we are leaving due to feeling anxious and afraid.
