Time To Move
Terrible property manager skills. High turn over. No responses to emails or maintenance requests which are cancelled without being resolved. Manager barely available.

I have lived here for many years. I recently no longer needed a 2 bedroom / 2 bath anymore and wanted to downsize to a 1 bedroom / 1 bath and I was so happy to be able to rent again at this property. I love it here. The management is excellent. I was so impressed how everyone bent over backwards to make sure I had all the resources to move. The grounds are clean and the maintenance crew here are super too. I appreciate the care that goes into this community . I can lay my head down at night or... be gone long hours at work and I feel safe and cared for. Thank you Muirwoods you are my forever home ??

Muirwood was my first apartment that I rented and I couldn't have choosen a better place. It has everything you could want: gyms, laundry, seclusion, and amazing proximity to grocery stores and other necessities. The staff are always available to help out with an issues and the managers are always available to help out with any questions they have. Darlene is always answering my questions and was always quick to refund me if I had paid too much. She's an amazing manager of an amazing complex and... I easily recommend this place for anyone in search of a good home.

I have held back on this review with hopes that the issues will mellow out. I am at my brink. I will post this opinion is as many places as I can. I moved here in November 2019 (yes two months ago), and I have been completely baffled at what I have had to deal with. My current issue/concern is as follows. I was assigned with a parking spot that had accumulated a significant amount of dust. With the rain, it became more evident. When the area is wet, it makes the floor around my car muddy,... slippery, slimy and dangerous to get in to and out of my car. This is on top of it being extremely unsanitary. I reached out to management with pictures, and I received a response stating that they cleaned the area (apparently 4 days after it was to be done and I wasn’t notified). But the area was actually not cleaned. Management claims the cleaning people told her they did. And that they told her that dirt, no matter how much accumulates, has to be dealt with by me, normalizing my experience. Now the management office is literally steps away from my parking spot. Why would my issue not have been analyzed by them in presence. I have offered to be there and show what I am speaking of to avoid a he said she said between management and maintenance. I also noticed a water leak that usually leads to my spot from further on. So my spot has basically been wet many times even without the rain. Clearly the spot is even more dirtier and darker than spots that are by me which alone would be an indicator. Since I have moved in, I have had several issues. A cracked portion of my hardwood flooring which maintenance told me was due to previous shoddy work; loose kitchen cabinet shelf that literally did not have all for corners secured; loose bathroom sliding door which had to be tightened twice because it came off the hinge, and had to be turned 180 degrees to finally be secure and enable me to side it in from the inside; a refrigerator that backed up a huge clog of ice which had to be chipped out and heated to clear, a wall “electric” socket that I noticed was literally popped when I tried to plug an appliance in; a bathroom sink handle that was cracked and opened up. This has been a frustrating experience. My previous apartments that I have lived in 6 year and 12 year periods, has never put me in these positions, as they continually have maintained the premises way before requests. This is a regret I hope no one has to experience.

We do not have an indoor parking garage and the carports by nature of being outside will accumulate dust as it blows in the wind. During the rainy season surface water from the parking lot will accumulate and travel to the lowest spot available due... to the effects of gravity. On the day of your first call we did pull our landscapers from their regular routine that day to attend to debris and leaves in the entire parking including your parking space. When you called the second time to say that nobody had done anything I personally went outside to inspect your parking space where I was able to confirm that the leaves in that area of the parking lot had been collected. I further contacted our Maintenance Supervisor and asked him what could be done about the approx 2ft round puddle area of muddy water near the front 1/4 panel of the drivers side of your vehicle. He said that he would like to wait until it was not raining and sweep up the mud when it was dry. This has also been done. Under no circumstance do we expect you to maintain any of our common area spaces. All maintenace and grounds staff have been asked to pay special attention to your parking area and when I walk or drive the property my eyes will always make special note of your parking space and if any deficiencies are observed the maitenance staff has been instructed to sweep as needed. We were not able to trade your parking with another residents as you requested as all parking spaces are preassigned. I have been told by maintenace that all requests have been taken care of. Most on the same day the request was put in. We look forward to meeting all of your future expectations as we take exceptional pride in the appearance and craftmanship of our community both inside and out.

I do not recommend moving here unless you want your packages regularly stolen or your car broken into it. Appearances are not always reality.

First of all I would like to thank you for your residency here at Muirwood and your recent renewal. I know that in the two years you have lived at Muirwood we had an unfortunate issue with a car break in at night. We expressed how sorry we were that... happened. We have increased our courtesy patrol's presence on the property to help prevent possible incidents. I worked with you very closely to help relocate missing packages you reported. I accepted packages at the office as a solution to ensure their safety. I am certain that the issue is not ongoing as I have not heard about any further incidents. Management will always try and help resolve any problems that come up. We care about your residency, safety and well being.
