Don't live here.

This was the second time I have lived in these apartments. And I came back because I enjoyed my rental in 2016 before I took another job and had to move in 2018. The owners back then were far better. This time, I was astounded by the new owners' lack of attentiveness, how expensive this complex had become, the rude staff, and how unwilling they are to help when you ask for assistance.

If you plan to live here, here's what to expect:

1. Expect your rent to get raised without notice (it was...
raised 10% this year, which is why I left. I was told it was raised to cover the cost of a new roof installation).
2. Don't expect to get your full deposit back even if you do everything right (they took more than $200 off mine for last-minute charges).
3. Clean the absolute hell out of your apartment before leaving. If you miss small things like your ceiling fan blades, they will charge you $60-$120 to clean something that takes 5 minutes to dust.
4. Expect to wait 60 days to get what's left of your deposit back.
5. Expect the staff to sound inconvenienced each time you call.
6. Expect the office to be closed almost every single time you go fill your laundry card or chat with someone in person.
7. Expect the laundry card machine to not work more than half the time.
8. If you're getting maintenance done and you work from home, plan on the maintenance guy pounding on your door unannounced and with abandon until you answer. Doesn't matter if you are in the middle of doing things like having work meetings.
9. Expect them to stand back and do literally nothing when you report a disturbance in your complex.
10. Expect weed coming through vents from other units (even though this is prohibited in your lease).
11. Expect rusty pipes and dirty water (I have a Zero water filter and there was an orange film that got left behind before my water was filter).
12. Pet owners who don't pick up after their dogs.
13. No ventilation or fan in your bathrooms so it gets muggy in your apartment after you shower.
14. No air conditioning and your thermostat in the winter is either no heat or Satan's hellscape.
15. Illegal dumping at your nearest dumpster.

Regina (a past employee) and Erin were the only nice people I interacted with when I could get in touch with someone. They offer a Flex payment system where they split your rent.

Overall, I don't recommend living here. It's overpriced for the state it's in. The new owners are very greedy and don't really care about their residents.

False reviews please read about Palmer Park Apartments

First of all, each apt only has 30amp of electricity so you cannot run many household items together like a hair dryer and a small space heater.
There are no:
Microwaves
Ice-Maker
Shelves in 'pantry'
Over the stove hood/fan or light
The floors creak so badly I cannot talk on the phone while working because my customers can hear it.
Neighbors can hear everything each other says and does!
The walls in bedrooms and bathrooms are like your neighbor is your roommate!
I am paying $40 a month for...
common area gas?
Brown water! The water in the kitchen is so toxic and brown that my stemware is turning brown! Do not drink it!
The water in my bathroom sink has an awful odor!
Management changed and they are not on the ball, one girl answers the phone but has no authority or training to do anything and the 'manager' is always in a meeting.
My car was vandalized (stolen temp tag) with 2 weeks of owning it and my bike and my neighbors were both stolen and locks cut at the same time.
When my downstairs neighbor cooks, I smell everything!
Oh, and when he tweeks with the neighbors and they are up at 7am singing at the top of their lungs waking the neighborhood, what can you do?
Cops have been out 4 times in my bldg next hallway in last 4 months.
Lit up like daylight at night...need thermal curtains to block.
NO AC!!! NO INSULATION, I can see out the 'vent' into the daylight from my shower!
I could go on.
Only good thing, is the fantastic caretake, maintenance guy!
They will respond rather quickly if you need outside help like plumbers or electricians.
This is NOT worth thousands a month, pass it by.
Old 1947 building with very few upgrades but doors, and new plumbing fixtures.

Great Place to Live

I lived at Palmer Park for a short time. Everything about it was great. The office staff was extremely friendly, especially Regina who I dealt with the most. They were very responsive and always willing to help. The residents that I encountered were all very friendly. A short time after I moved in, my company transferred me out of state. The process to break my lease was easy to understand and the whole process went off without a hitch. I would definitely recommend living here.
