Awesome ??

Highly recommended. Maintenance request response and done friendly. Office staff cares about us. Heat included. Plenty of parking I prefer the street too tight in the back. Awesome waking routes. Cooper river in view from my window. Downtown location. Very quiet. No bugs love this.

TLDR; read this - not worth your time

Location is great. You’ll see on the metro’s website that they “care about their residents”. As a current resident of over a year, I’ll offer my honest, opposing opinion.
The buildings are OLD. Paint is CAKED on. It’s been cracking for the entire 12 months we’ve been here. They just keep covering up….

Also, not sure what they were thinking with the windows here. They are IMPOSSIBLE to open or close without two people. Seriously. You need to UUUMMPPPHHHH to open or close. Trust me, since the...
heat is basically always on, you will want to open these windows.

We live on the second floor. The hardwood is nice, but there are some nails sticking out (we’ve lost many socks to holes due to this) and the floor literally sinks in towards the middle of each room. It’s not enough to distract, but we have to prop up one side of our TV/ fridge/ bookshelf so that it doesn’t topple over. You can’t make this up.

There is a wasp problem. We find dead wasps behind furniture and in the windowsill each time we clean.

The air conditioners provided are old and quite frankly, I don’t know if they are ever serviced, like you would expect at a complex of this size or at a complex with a more modern air infrastructure.

Like others, we’ve had good experiences with the maintenance crew. They’ve had to come when our bathroom ceiling leaked while it was raining before it crashed, and to replace a sink faucet when we had no water.

Lastly, upon renewal when emailing a property manager and the director, Robin G, we had a very disturbing experience. They did not respond to two of my emails when we asked questions about the renewal. I had to respond multiple times and loop in others to get a response. They pointed the finger at me, saying I did not respond, and when I proved that it was actually them, they never admitted fault, but instead said by default I had renewed my lease. This was extremely appalling, considering the email thread was regarding our potential departure. Now I’m forced to pay an unreasonable rent increase for a year despite requesting more information before signing a new lease.

They should be ashamed of themselves for claiming they have anything more than subpar communication skills. I know the company was founded by two Penn Grads. As a Penn Grad myself, I am discouraged after having this experience with this company.

TLDR: not worth your time. They could have at least responded to my emails ……

If you don’t like bugs I would not recommend.

First I’d like to say that my experience with management & maintenance is wonderful. Anytime I had an issue with my apartment it was addressed almost immediately. Unfortunately the cricket problem could not be fixed. Since I moved in I was killing about 3 huge camelback crickets a day until the office sent an exterminator. He put down some sticky traps but they still kept coming. I purchased my own & used Raid barrier. It was so bad that I had 3 traps in every room & they’d all quickly fill with... crickets from babies to large adult sized crickets. They would even hop on my couch & bed. So far I’ve only had 2 months where I didn’t see any crickets. I’m not sure if it’s because the exterminator treated the basement or because it was winter. Either way, it is now March & the crickets are all over my apartment again. My neighbor has been here two years & said they have always been here. They come through the doors, the radiators, & there are some gaps in the floor boards. If you don’t mind a cricket hopping on to your laptop while your doing work, then this apartment may work for you. The neighborhood is really nice. But I will be moving as soon as my lease ends.

This is not a 5 star property

I lived at the metropolitan Collingswood for a year and have to say that it is certainly not worth the 5 star rating that this website allegedly states. I saw a rat in my kitchen once, the shower rod completely fell off the shower wall at one point, and my downstairs neighbors were the dankest people I've ever encountered. It can be quiet, I'll give them that, but the management staff is also unreliable, shady, and terrible to deal with. They provided me with half truths when I decided not to... renew my lease due to a price increase, and it took me almost two weeks to get a response from the office after I had inquired about my last rent payment. The manager is patronizing and honestly a bit rude. One of the best decisions I've made for myself was leaving this apartment and finding my own house to purchase. The rent here isn't cheap, and the 5 star review certainly doesn't match the amenities.

The Metropolitan Collingswood: Pet Friendly! Older fixtures but nice quiet place

The most important thing moving here was that it was pet friendly. This was the only place in Collingwood that would take our two dogs, one is 60lbs the other is 40lbs. All they requested was that we were placed in a first floor apartment. The apartments are garden style, so brick buildings with 4 apartments in each. I very much enjoy living here. It is very quiet and peaceful around and an easy walk to the Cooper River or Haddon Ave where the restaurants and shops are. My commute to Philly is... about 20mins. The management is very hands off but helpful when you need them, and maintenance has always come immediately when I've called. There is a nice little fitness center and the town pool is right nearby. Each apartment gets enough parking permits for the driver a that live there, and there is always street parking if needed for visitors. The apartment itself is spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 dogs. It is a bit older but everything is fully functional. There is a washer and dryer and dishwasher in unit. Air conditioning is not central but there is a unit through the wall so you can still use the windows. There are lots of trees around and the neighborhood is very nice. I enjoy living here very much!
