Axis at Wycliff Apartments

Office staff was friendly and informative. Apartment sizes and amenities are great for the cost

As a current resident and member of the UTSW residency program, I chose Axis at Wycliff largely due to its reputation and convenience for residents in training. Initially, my expectations were met with the community’s amenities and location. However, my experience has been increasingly overshadowed by multiple issues concerning management, safety, and overall resident support.

Management and Communication: My interactions with the management, particularly with the Assistant Community Director,... and lack of communication from the new Community Director, have been less than satisfactory. Despite providing feedback and attempting to engage constructively about lease renewals, responses have often been dismissive or unhelpful. For example, after expressing my considerations about renewing my lease, I was unexpectedly asked about sending a "vacate notice," which was not only premature but also conveyed a lack of understanding of my situation.

Additionally, there have been instances of poor communication that border on unprofessional. An encounter regarding overdue rent—which had actually been paid—was handled in a manner that was both rude and accusatory. Other residents have echoed similar experiences, reporting dismissive behavior and even dishonesty about important matters like apartment maintenance and deposit handling.

Safety and Security: The safety concerns at the complex are troubling. There have been instances of theft, including several of my packages being stolen, my car being broken into, and a disturbing incident where a resident was robbed at gunpoint. The presence of suspicious individuals around the complex at night has made many of us feel unsafe.

Financial Discrepancies: On two occasions, I was double-charged for rent. Such errors are not only inconvenient but stressful, contributing to a climate of financial uncertainty and mistrust towards the management’s handling of billing.

Overall Experience: While the potential of Axis at Wycliff as a convenient and amenity-rich community for residents remains, these issues significantly mar the living experience. The lack of effective management and support makes it difficult for residents like myself to feel valued and secure.

Only move here if you want to experience hallways that smell, like dog per, gates and access doors that never work, not getting your packages, getting your car broken into, getting your packages stolen, a gym with equipment that doesn’t work. When I moved in I they gave me the wrong keys, for goodness sake. I had a washer and dryer that didn’t work for months. When they did finally replace it, I had to turn the breaker on and off every time I ran the dryer. The list goes on. Stay far far away.

The gates never work and are constantly getting broken into. After I had a pretty scary encounter with a homeless man trying to get in, I notified the management and was informed that there was nothing they could do. The gates have been broken into 27 times since April.

Wow!!! Just moved in few days ago to this apartment and you can hear the neighbors from upstairs tv very clearly through the walls. I “watched” the whole 21 jump street movie 1 night after 11:30pm until almost 1am and TV was on still watching different TV show until 3:15am.
I was working for 13hs and trying to have a good night of sleep and it’s impossible. It’s been 5 days and I had 1 good night of sleep and the rest I had to go to my closet or living room to “TRY” to sleep.
Contacted the... office and so far no solution and looking to move to a different unit.
