Avoid at all costs
We’ve lived here at Kensington Park for almost a year and when we were looking around at apartments, this place seemed perfect. Sometimes things truly are too good to be true. Our move-in was a disaster - the apartment was promised to us on a specific day so we made all arrangements to get our stuff packed and moved from our previous home only to show up at the office and be told that the apartment wasn’t ready. They couldn’t be bothered to call us the day before or even earlier that day. After... two hours of waiting, we could finally head upstairs and begin unloading. There were many problems and all were reported to the office at move-in. It took them over a month to fix the blinds in the living room (our apartment faces I-35 so that was great) and over a month to fix the ice maker in the freezer. All the while, I’m 8 months pregnant, sweating like crazy, and begging the office staff to please make these repairs. They lied and said the repairs had been done when they hadn’t been and I had to keep calling, emailing, and complaining, only to be made to feel like an idiot.
Additionally, they didn’t have time to deep clean our apartment before we moved in and promised it would happen after we moved in and it never did. Fast forward and we’ve had our toilet overflow (no fault of our own) and instead of pulling back the laminate and fixing the flooring, they gave us a fan and wished us luck. The flooring still doesn’t lay flat and I am certain there is mold under there.
the water has been shut off complex-wide for going on 36 hours. management seriously dropped the ball with communication. We found out at noon on Friday that we had lost water. Not everyone has access to internet during the day and many found out after arriving home. We didn’t receive our next update until after midnight on Saturday. Our next update came and said water would be restored at 3pm. At 4:30p, there was still no water. At 4:40p, we got an email telling us to fill our tubs and jugs and that water would be restored temporarily and cut off again after two hours. No resolution or estimated time for restoration. Here it is, after 9pm on Saturday, going on 36+ hours without water, unsure when it will return. I have an infant. She needs formula, made with water. I understand leaks and repairs happen but the management here doesn’t care how this affects their residents. And no word from management. No cases of water at the office or gallon jugs
